Oldenburger Energiecluster OLEC e. V.
OLEC - Dialogue platform for the energy turnaround
The Oldenburg Energy Cluster OLEC e.V. is the largest cross-technology energy network in northwestern Germany. Small and large companies as well as universities, institutions, local authorities and educational institutions belong to the network. The members have extensive know-how and excellent competencies in the energy sector and focus on renewable energies and their efficient integration into future energy systems. OLEC brings together important actors from the region and sees itself as a dialog platform for the energy transition in Lower Saxony. In 2005, the former mayor of Oldenburg and honorary OLEC member Dietmar Schütz launched the network. Since then, OLEC has developed steadily - from a regional network of renewable energy producers with a cross-technology approach to an innovation platform for the energy system of the future in Northern Germany with an international orientation. Under the umbrella of OLEC, interdisciplinary work and research is carried out in all areas of future energies. The members, some of whom are active worldwide, are involved in various research projects, studies and innovative projects. It is precisely this cross-technology networking in the cluster that gives the members a knowledge edge. This can make a decisive contribution to innovation development, the optimization of existing products and the opening up of new business fields.
Objective and tasks
The network sees itself as a dialog platform for the energy transition throughout Lower Saxony and is the central point of contact for all questions concerning the future energy supply. OLEC not only promotes knowledge transfer between industry and research, but also involves other actors such as municipalities, cities and regions, as well as from the education and training sector, in order to ensure a transfer of know-how at as many interfaces as possible.
