ITS mobility – the smart mobility cluster ITS mobility is the largest competence cluster for smart mobility in Germany. Around 200 members from the economy, science, federations, cities and communities belong to the non-profit association based at the Research Airport in Braunschweig, Germany. We focus on the mobility of the future and innovative technologies that will make traffic safer and more efficient. Our goal is to connect business and science in this field and to bring experts together. To this end, we initiate and support specialist events and projects on key topics of intelligent mobility.

With profound knowledge of the sector, more than 20 years of experience, and a sense for innovative subjects, ITS mobility supports the dialog between mobility industry and research. The professional events and projects of ITS mobility form a platform for the direct knowledge transfer and exchange of experiences. Members of the cluster get special discounts at professional events, and can participate in joint booths at congresses and fairs. Together with its members, ITS mobility develops ideas for innovative projects on key topics and trends in intelligent mobility, puts potential cooperation partners in contact with each other, and supports funding acquisition.

The network was founded in 1997 as Gesamtzentrum für Verkehr Braunschweig (GZVB) which had a local focus. In 2009, it merged with a telematics network and was renamed in ITS Niedersachsen e.V. Since hat point in time, the acronym ITS for Intelligent Transport Systems is part of the competence networks title. Finally, in 2015, another fusion with the Automotive Cluster resulted in ITS automotive nord. The new name ITS mobility was agreed by the general assembly in September 2017, and expresses that the network has reached the next development level: Its members address comprehensive, integral mobility concepts with vehicles, people and infrastructure connected with each other.
