Hamburg Aviation: New Podcast in English on Green Flying

With its new English-language podcast series “Hamburg Aviation Green”, the cluster presents some of the green aviation activities in Hamburg to a broad, global audience. In the first episode, Angus Baigent from Hamburg Aviation talks to Roland Gerhards, Managing Director of ZAL Center of Applied Aeronautical Research (ZAL).

Hamburg Aviation: New Podcast in English on Green Flying

Gerhards is a “veteran” of the aviation industry, having worked for Airbus for 15 years on the A380, A350 and A330 programmes.

He reports,

  • what it's like to lead an institute at the forefront of sustainable aviation research and development,
  • why it is important to offer engineers a free lunch, and
  • how ZAL approaches research and development to make both faster and more productive.
