European Commission: Conference “Investing in EU Industry” at Hannover Messe

EU industry is key to Europe’s prosperity and global competitiveness. At the conference on 22 April 2024, there will be a discussion between high-level decision makers from the European Commission, Member States, the European Investment Bank and European industry on what the EU is already doing and what it could do to invest (more) in European industry.

Some of the topics that will be discussed:

  • How can decarbonisation become a business case for European companies?
  • How can we foster innovation, reduce dependencies and secure supply chains in strategic sectors?
  • How can we ensure we have affordable and clean energy as well as skilled workers for key areas such as clean technologies?
  • Last but not least: How can we best use the key driver of Europe’s competitiveness – The EU Single Market – and further strengthen it through clearer rules and reducing the administrative burden for businesses?
