European Commission: EU Bioeconomy Conference 2022

The high-level conference “The Bioeconomy - Enabling the European Green Deal in Challenging Times” will take place on 6 and 7 October 2022 in Brussels. In addition, all sessions will be livestreamed so that anyone interested can participate from anywhere. The European Commission is organising the conference. The deadline for registration is 1 October 2022.

Among other topics, the conference will discuss how the bioeconomy can help to better manage certain conflicting goals.

The focus will be on the question: How can the increasing demand for biomass for energy and industrial needs be reconciled with increasing climate and biodiversity goals? Details and registration

  • Presentation of the findings of the progress report on the EU Bioeconomy Strategy, adopted in June 2022. The report highlights the role of bioeconomy policy in improving policy coherence and systems thinking.
