The non-profit organization Photonics BW e. V. was founded in July 2000 under the motto "strengthening strengths" and aims at promoting optical technologies in the federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. Today, Photonics BW unites over 90 members from the industrial and research sector, SMEs, start-up companies, banks and advisory institutions.

Objectives

• Promoting optical technologies with respect to research, development and application, training and further training as well as the promotion of young talents
• sustainably strengthening the leading photonic location in Baden-Wuerttemberg and public relations for the advancement of the international competitiveness

Activities

• creating innovation promoting structures through systematic network creation
• knowledge and technology transfer in companies through bodies of experts
• project management for the Baden-Wuerttemberg Stiftung
• mediation and support of research results
• interdisciplinary cooperation with partner network
• international marketing by joint stands at home and abroad
• advanced training for skilled workers in seminars and workshops
• supporting start-up companies as well as start-up support
• acquisition of skilled workers for STEM-professions, especially women as a target group
