Logistics Initiative Hamburg (LIHH)
A well functioning logistics sector is indispensable for the efficiency of other economic sectors. The branch’s responses to pressure on speed and efficiency, highest expectations of quality, as well as the extreme variability of conditions in other parts of the world, have made logistics a high-tech business.
The Logistics Initiative Hamburg is a major industry network. The registered association “Logistik-Initiative Hamburg e.V.” was established by representatives of the business community and the Hamburg State Ministry of Economic and Labour Affairs. With nearly 500 active members from the logistics industry and related sectors, this powerful network is the largest of its kind in Germany. As a public-private partnership, the Logistics Initiative aims to expand Hamburg’s role as the leading logistics hub in northern Europe and provide support for all logistics-related industries, trades and services. Therefore the initiative is active in “Information and Public Relation”, “Service and Support”, “Working Groups & Projects” as well as networking and events in the working fields “Industrial Real Estate and Infrastructure”, “Employees”, “Innovation and Technology” and “Profiling the region”.
The Logistics Initiative promotes networks between business, the scientific community and politics, from exchanges of information up to lasting cooperation. The Logistics Initiative bundles the ideas, needs and interests of the companies.
