biosaxony e.V. and the biosaxony Management Corporation form Saxony’s biotechnology cluster. biosaxony e.V. is the association of the biotechnology and life science industries in the Free State of Saxony. Its members represent the different life science companies, scientific institutions and stakeholders within Saxony. biosaxony Management Corporation is focused on the economic interests of small and medium-sized enterprises. The core responsibilities of the company embrace the initiation of co-operations and joint projects as well as the support of technology transfer activities. In the scope of project support, project consulting and project management, biosaxony Management Corporation stimulates innovation, supports initiatives in the interest of small and medium-sized companies and passes on technical know-how in R&D and market-oriented transfer projects. Additionally, biosaxony Management Corporation carries out coordination and consulting services with regard to applications for funds. The company also organises tailor-made economic and scientific workshops and symposiums.

The cluster aims at initiating co-operative projects between companies and scientists, providing services and know how and leveraging synergies for developing the industry and representing the regional competences.

Work on the ground is strengthened by the two offices maintained by biosaxony in Dresden and Leipzig. Additional activities are to be developed in other key areas of Saxony.
