European Level

Many European countries have been promoting the development of sustainable, highly competitive regions through innovation and cluster-related measures – for years.

Various cluster programmes at national or regional level strengthen industrial ecosystems as well as cross-industry and cross-regional networking.

The European Commission has been pursuing an active cluster policy as well. Several Directorates General offer cluster and innovation policy measures, that focus on networking Europe's best cluster initiatives and increasing their innovative strength and competitiveness through cooperation and professionalisation.

European Cluster Collaboration Platform
The European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) is the central platform for clusters and cluster policy in the European Union. It offers up-to-date information on the European cluster landscape, support services of the European Commission, an overview of international partner organisations and numerous events as well as information on each country's industrial cluster policy.

The "go-cluster" programme is an associated partner of the European Clusters Alliance (ECA) and is therefore part of an international network of national cluster organisations. The goal of the ECA is for the European cluster community to speak with one voice and to stand up for its interests.

In addition, the "go-cluster" programme is a founding member of the European Clusters Labelling Excellence Structure (EUCLES). EUCLES – a non-profit association based on a coordinated European approach – is responsible for awarding cluster management organisations with and further developing their quality labels.
